The criteria for inclusion in the Financial Times’ ranking include evaluations of course design, teaching methods, quality of faculty and students, new skills and learning, program follow-up, and facilities as well as the results of a survey of program graduates. Its scores on this criteria included a 25th ranking on program follow-up, indicating SIM’s consistency in working closely with companies to ensure its programs mesh with their needs.

SIM was founded in March 1999 with the financial support of Cha-Kyung Koo, the honorary chairman of the LG Group. For the past 20 years, SIM has contributed significantly to the advancement of Korean executive education by developing the talent that industry needs and by effectively providing education on ever-changing management techniques through industry-academia cooperation.

So far, about 20,000 participants have taken SIM’s diverse programs that offer more than 20 courses, on average, each year.
