History
1915
In March 1915 Chosen Christian College, the predecessor of Yonhi College, was founded by Missionary Horace G Underwood. The college had programs in commerce, humanities, mathematics and physics, agriculture and theology. Chosen Christian College was the first private college in Korea and was renamed Yonhi college two years later in 1917.
1919
Yonhi College produced its first 10 graduates of the commerce program in 1919.
1929
The office of the Department of Commerce was opened to support student's academic activities. The Department of Commerce increased its entrance quota to 60 students two years later in 1931.
1946
Yonhi College was raised to university status in 1946 with four academies: Liberal Arts, Commerce, Science, and Theology. Yonhi became the first university to introduce co-education in Korea. The Commerce Academy had a total enrollment of 300 students; 180 students in the Department of Commerce and 120 students in the Department of Economics.
1958
The Department of Business Administration (entrance quota of 180 students) was additionally established in the College of Commerce and Economics in 1958. The Department of Commerce increased its student quota from 180 students to 240 students. The Department of Business Administration signed a business administration education aid agreement with Washington University in St. Louis in 1958.
1965
Evening MBA Program was founded for the first time in Korea in 1964. Master's Degree Program and Research Course Program were launched in 1965.
1969
A classroom building complex for the College of Business Administration and Economics was completed in 1969.
1976
Advanced Management Program(AMP) was launched in 1976.
1996
A building for the College of Business Administration and Economics, Daewoo Hall (Kim,Woo Jung Memorial Hall) was built in 1996.
1998
Global MBA program conducting lectures in English was launched for the first time in Korea in 1998.
1999
Sangnam Institute of Management(SIM), an executive education institute, affiliated with the Department of Business Administration was opened in 1999.
2003
The Department of Business Administration was separated from the College of Business Administration and Economics and was raised to the School of Business in 2003.
2006
The Graduate School for MBA programs was launched in 2006.
2008
For the first time in Korea the School of Business earned both of AACSB accreditation and KABEA accreditation in 2008.
2010
Corporate MBA program was ranked as one of the world's top 100 MBA by the Financial Times for the first time in Korea.
2011
Global MBA program was ranked as one of the world's top 100 MBA by the Economist for the first time in Korea.
2012
The School of Business earned EQUIS accreditation in 2012.
2015
Yonsei School of Business(YSB) celebrates its 100th anniversary. A stand alone building for Yonsei School of Business has been completed with donations made by alumni.
2016
Yonsei School of Business & ESSEC Business School Signs Dual Degree Program
2016
Received ˇ°Future Creation Management Awards of Koreaˇ± in recognition of contribution in designing the Venture, Innovative & Startup Program Curriculum
2017
Signed YSB Venture, Innovative & Startup Program (YVIP) agreement with AMOREPACIFIC
2017
Opened a new concentration in Venture & Innovation
