MBA Students Interview

After receiving a Fine Arts degree from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, I decided that my ultimate career goal was to become a brand specialist. In order to reach my goal, I thought learning business practices and management skills would be necessary for me in pursuing my dream, so I decided to go back to school and join the GMBA program at Yonsei. I focused my studies on marketing, as my background in visual communication could create a strong synergy between my Business and Fine Arts studies. Among all of the classes I took at Yonsei, the CDC class was the most memorable and valuable learning experience for me by having the opportunity to listen to lectures taught by industry experts. These experiences and stories they shared assured me that I wanted to focus on marketing and brand management, and gave me the inspiration I needed to pursue an internship opportunity at LF (former 'LG Fashion'). I am very grateful to the CDC and the YSB leadership, as they helped me through the internship application process and ultimately my final decision to start my career at LF. I am thrilled to begin this first chapter of my career as a Brand Marketer and ultimately becoming a global brand specialist.

“Finding the right job and advancing one’s career could be a matter of luck for some, but it is certainly easier for those who have clear goals, know what they want/like and get ready early on. For me, that’s where the Career Development Center played a key role in helping me start the thought process with the Career Foundation Course notably, which was inspiring for goal setting. We also had career consulting with HR specialists who helped me understand the job market. Finally, I took great advantage of the résumé/interview clinics to prepare for the most stressful and difficult part of the job hunt. Thanks to many connections, CDC was also there to introduce opportunities such as internships in logistics and IB firms, but also provided recommendations to Korean big players like Samsung C&T, SK or LG Electronics. I didn’t expect CDC to make the effort for me – and no one should –but every time I reached to them, the guidance and support was enlightening, and for that I am most thankful!"
